Charlie Raibman's Fundraiser
Raising money for Be The Match, The National Marrow Donor Program
The National Marrow Donor Program connects patients with bone marrow and stem cell donors to save their lives.
My name is Charlie Raibman, and I am raising money for Be The Match. I have a young cousin who has been in need of a bone marrow transplant since she was born, and my family has worked with the program before. While we still haven't found a match for her, we've been able to register people as donors and raise money to help the program operate. Thousands of people are diagnosed every year with life-threatening blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. Other diseases include Diamond-Blackfan anemia, which my cousin suffers from. Bone marrow and blood stem cell transplants are a cure. The National Marrow Donor Program has more than 470 centers worldwide, including 155 transplant centers in the United States and 38 international transplant centers. Be The Match provides one-on-one support for patients and families throughout the transplant process, as well as growing the Be The Match registry and connecting patients with donors. Legislative advocacy to protect patient access to care and providing education for healthcare professionals are just a couple of the many services Be The Match provides. I'm asking for your help so I can reach my fundraising goal of $1,000 and help save lives.
Currently in its fifth year, the HLFYA program empowers young men & women who want to be changemakers in their communities and beyond.
The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation was founded in 2014 by New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and his wife Therese to make a difference in the lives of children and their families throughout the world, in the areas of health and education. The Young Ambassadors program was developed because HLF believes in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world and we want to give you a platform to do just that!
