My name is Jack Reynolds and I am a junior at Hastings High School in Westchester County, New York. Last year, I was lucky to be chosen as a Henrik Lundqvist Foundation Young Ambassador. This year, I am continuing my service as a mentor. My experience as an HLFYA has truly created some of the most important, meaningful, and fun times in my life. It feels amazing to know that I can make a difference in and around my community and also in other areas as well. HLF has given me more insight on how many people are truly in need, including in my own community. It has also taught me valuable skills, including how to create and manage a project, how to manage my time, and how things like fundraising and service projects work. Most of all, being an HLFYA showed me that I can make a difference and I am excited to continue to serve my community.

Please join me in raising funds for the Food Bank for New York City which I've had the privilege of serving during my time as a Young Ambassador. The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation supports the Food Bank in many ways, Including Mobile pantry volunteer events and virtual hunger simulation events with the Young Ambassadors, as well as yearly grants to support both the Campus and Mobile Pantry Programs. With your help, The Food Bank of New York City and The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation can continue their mission to give meals and hope to New Yorkers in need!

Currently in its nineth year, the HLFYA program empowers young men & women who want to be changemakers in their communities and beyond.

The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation was founded in 2014 by New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and his wife Therese to make a difference in the lives of children and their families throughout the world, in the areas of health and education. The Young Ambassadors program was developed because HLF believes in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world and we want to give you a platform to do just that!

The HLF Young Ambassadors program is open to young men and women ages 12-18 who reside in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut. This year, HLFYAs will be expected to fulfill the following program requirements from January 2020 – December 2020:

1. Complete a minimum of fifteen (15) hours of community service (signed off on by a supervisor, teacher, coach, parent or guardian);
2. Complete one (1) independent service project in support of HLF’s mission;
3. Attend at least one (1) HLF-hosted event and/or service project (these projects will be hosted in New York City, at various locations and times throughout the year);
4. Make a short presentation to his/her class, team or other community group about HLF’s mission and his/her work as an HLFYA. All HLFYAs also commit to conducting themselves with integrity and make a promise to embody HLF’s ideals of hard work, determination, service and kindness to others.
5. Participate in the annual HLFYA KidsJam Event.
