Food Bank for NYC

Hi, my name is Cara Griffin. I live in Garden City, New York and I am a sophomore at Sacred Heart Academy. I have recently been given the opportunity to be Young Ambassador for the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation. Henrik Lundqvist is the goalie on the New York Rangers and the founder, along with his wife Therese, of the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation. The foundation was founded in 2014 to make a difference in the lives of children and their families throughout the world, in the areas of health and education. The Young Ambassadors program was developed because HLF believes in the incredible power of young people to make a difference in the world.

In the spirit of the HLF's recent charitable gift to the Food Bank of NYC, I would like to follow in those footsteps to raise much needed funds for children and their families in NYC. The Food Bank focuses on helping children maintain access to healthy nutrition. To do this they will maintain an operational presence in public schools via Campus Pantries, and deploy at minimum, 27 mobile markets through June (at minimum 3 per week) with an emphasis on outreach to families with children whose childcare or in-class learning has been interrupted.
